Publishing Inquiries
Sano-Gumi Co., Ltd. provides publishing for games by individuals and small teams on Steam and other stores. This is not employment or full-time recruitment. We work with you as an external partner on a per-title basis.
Our policy is simple: a game made with joy is the strongest. We protect the creator's discretion and don't interfere unnecessarily. If we have concerns we will speak up, but only as suggestions — we won't force anything.
What we can do
- Support for store submissions, builds, store pages, and operations before and after release
- Supported stores (examples): Steam. On request, we also support Epic Games Store (EOS), Microsoft Store, and PlayStation
- A sounding board (our representative, who has experience with commercial titles; the author makes the final decisions)
- Development-side work such as porting and migration (with a larger revenue share accordingly)
What to submit when applying
The following two items are required.
- A proposal that can be read in about 3–5 minutes (longer is fine)
- A playable pre-production build (graphics, tutorials, etc. can be unfinished — just something that shows the core concept)
If you have anything else to show us, feel free to include it (trailers, past works, social media, technical notes — any format).
What happens next
After reviewing your submission, if we are interested we will set up an interview and a Q&A. A guideline for the terms will be put in writing based on the title and the amount of work.
Who this suits
- You want to keep creative control of your work
- You want a publisher to “help you deliver” rather than “fix” your game
- You want to outsource platform porting or cleaning up technical debt
Who this doesn't suit
- You want the publisher to make the final decisions on the concept and expression
- You are looking only for a fixed one-time buyout (we work mainly on revenue share)
To start, please send us the items above along with what you're currently struggling with.
